Trauma Workshop

Service Description

Students reactions to trauma can interfere with how they react in school academically, emotionally and behaviorally. Staff serve as a critical component by supporting students that have been affected by generational, Intergenerational and trans-generational trauma. This workshop will support and help staff and administrators to understand and recognize trauma and brainstorm interventions in order to support students in the classroom. Some students/children may also have came in contact with the juvenile justice system which my have caused trauma. This workshop will also help juvenile justice professionals (including judges, attorneys, law enforcement, probation officers, frontline residential staff, and mental health personnel) understand and provide trauma-focused services to these youth and young adults who have experienced childhood trauma, create trauma-informed environments in order to support the student holistically while providing tools and supports to family members, staff and the community.
